Plan construction night work in Belgium after the June 2026 rule change

Treat the broader admission of night work from June 2026 as a starting condition, while preserving working-time, rest and sector checks.

A planner may read that night work is now admitted and assume any crew can be moved into an overnight shift. The Belgian change removes one general prohibition, but it does not erase working-time limits, rest, pay arrangements, introduction procedures or site-safety duties. Availability is therefore only one planning input.

Start with the current source and the right identity

The Federal Public Service Employment's current night-work guidance states that night work is generally admitted from 1 June 2026 in sectors covered by the Labour Act. It also explicitly preserves the other rules on working time, rest, remuneration, implementation procedures and worker wellbeing.

Turn the source into one bounded decision

For each proposed night shift, identify the employer, applicable joint committee, work schedule, site risk and competent approver. Confirm that the regime was introduced correctly and that required rest and supplements are handled. Do not apply one crew member's eligibility or agreement to everyone assigned to the site.

Keep evidence without automating the next step

Use the schedule to flag the shift for review rather than silently approving it. Keep the planned hours, approval basis and actual hours together. If the shift, location or crew changes, reopen the check. Posted workers require the same attention to Belgian conditions and any enforceable sector agreement.

Test exceptions before making the workflow routine

Test at least a missing company number, an ambiguous party, a duplicate and a temporarily unavailable source. The workflow should stop with a focused question and name an owner. Keep the source, review date, input, outcome and confirmation without copying more personal data than needed. Escalate tax, legal, labour or safety uncertainty to the competent person.

Repeat the check when the amount, party, invoice action, site, schedule or official instruction changes. An earlier result is useful context, not automatic permission. Define who can correct an error, who informs affected people and when the exception is genuinely closed.

Make the status readable to a colleague who did not prepare the file. They should see what was checked, what remains uncertain and which next action is allowed or blocked. Use stable fields for identity, date, source and decision; a free-text note can explain the evidence but should not be the only evidence.

Connect the record to controlled execution

Enfin can connect the customer, supplier, quote, project, task, document and invoice in one record. Alfie can prepare information and propose an action within available permissions; an authorised user confirms consequential actions. Explore Enfin, compare pricing or discuss your workflow.
