Removing an assignment is not the same as deleting the task or cancelling the work. The site may still require the activity, equipment or access slot, and another assignment can depend on the same crew. A governed proposal should reveal the gap it creates before the schedule changes.

Turn the source into one bounded decision

Resolve the exact assignment, worker or crew, project, task and time window. Check dependent work, required skills, travel and site access. Decide whether to remove only, replace, or reschedule; do not infer cancellation from an absence message.

Keep evidence without hiding the next step

Show the coverage impact and keep the confirmer with the schedule change. Notify people only through a separately authorised communication path. The task remains visible unless another explicit action changes it, so planners can see the unfilled requirement and assign a new owner.

Test exceptions before making the workflow routine

Test at least a missing company number, an ambiguous party, a duplicate and a temporarily unavailable source. The workflow should stop with a focused question and name an owner. Keep the source, review date, input, outcome and confirmation without copying more personal data than needed. Escalate tax, legal, labour or safety uncertainty to the competent person.
